Wausau West Regional

WAUSAU – Marshfield had only one first-place finish but still won the girls title with 158.5 points. D.C. Everest was second with 147.

Stevens Point won the boys title with 173 points.

The only double winner in individual events in the girls meet was Brenna Lehrke of D.C. Everest. She won the long jump with a jump of 17-6.75 and the triple jump with a jump of 36-3.5.

In the boys meet, D.C. Everest’s Cole Stevens won the shot put with a 53-11.75 and the discus with a throw of 171-8. Teammate Blake Postler won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of :15.62 and the 300 hurdles in :41.44.

Division 2

Winneconne Regional

WINNECONNE – Winneconne took first in both the boys and girls meets.

In the boys event, Ayden Hart led the Wolves by winning both the 110-meter (:15.86) and 300 hurdles (:41.18), while Winneconne also swept all four relays.

Also winning two events were Kenny Power of Xavier, who won the 1,600 (4:45.73) and the 3,200 (10:30.32), and Amherst’s Drew Lewallen in the 200 (:23.81) and long jump (19-2).

On the girls side, Joey Perry helped power Winneconne with firsts in the 200 (:26.37) and 400 (1:01.01), while three of the Wolves’ relay teams were winners in the 400 relay, 800 relay and 1,600 relay.

Lilie Fouts of Xavier was a double winner, taking first in the 1,600 (5:22.92) and 3,200 (11:36.24), as was Amherst’s Lauren Bird, first in the shot put (40-7) and discus (106-7).

Tomahawk Regional

TOMAHAWK – Mosinee won the girls title with 147 points, while Northland Pines took the boys title with 128.5 points.

In the girls meet, Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s Reese Rogowski won the 200- and 400-meter dashes with times of :25.82 and :58.25, respectively.

Mosinee’s Brooke Baumann won the shot put with a put of 33-3 and the discus with a throw of 117-5.

In the boys meet, Mosinee’s Walker Beyerl won the discus with a throw of 135-2 and the shot put with a put of 47-6.25.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s Simon Schairer was a double winner, taking the triple jump (43-2) and the long jump (20-8.5).

Arcadia Regional

ARCADIA – Adams-Frienship finished in fifth place in the girls meet with 62 points and two first-place finishes. La Crosse Logan won the girls meet with 145 points.

In the boys meet, Adams-Friendship finished eighth with three points. La Crosse Logan also won the boys meet but with 148 points.

In the girls meet, Adams-Friendship’s Auda Gallick won both weight events, taking first in the shot put with a put of 39-3.25 and first in the discus with a throw of 121-10.

Division 3

Marathon Regional

MARATHON – Jenna Aschbrenner won three events – the high jump (5-0), pole vault (9-6) and long jump (16-4.75) – to help lead Marathon, which won both the boys and girls regional championship.

Other double winners on the girls side included Rosholt’s Sophia Bablitch in the 800 (2:22.66) and 1,600 (5:28.45), Wild Rose’s Kinsey Reynolds in the 100 hurdles (16.68) and triple jump (33-3.5), and Pacelli in the 400 and 800 relays.

In boys action, Auburndale’s Terrence Roberson was a triple winner, taking first in the 100 (:11.5), 200 (:23.51) and long jump (20-11).

Pacelli’s Adam Eiden won the 800 (2:03.70) and the 1,600 (4.46.97).

St. Mary Catholic Regional

FOX CROSSING – Manawa swept the team titles, winning the girls regional crown with 124 points to edge St. Mary Catholic by two points, and scoring 124 points in the boys meet to beat Iola-Scandinavia by seven points.

Lexi Hedtke of Manawa won the high jump (4-10) and long jump (15-4.5), Olivia Santos of Manawa won the shot put (37-3.25) and the discus (107-1), Kendal Stingle of Shiocton won the 100 hurdles (:15.52) and 300 hurdles (:46.12), and Alaina Wojtowski of Valley Christian won the 100 (:13.69) and the 200 (:27.26).

The Lourdes Academy girls won all four relay events.

Cade Stingle of Shiocton won both boys hurdles events, taking the 110 in 15.30 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 39.17 seconds.

COLBY – Colby won the girls meet with 161 points and had six first-place finishes.

The boys title went to Neillsville with 132 points. It had four first-place finishes.

Assumption’s Ainara Sainz De Rozas won the 1,600 with a time of 5:51.83 and the 3,200 in 12:28.41.

Colby’s Malayna Rieck won the shot put with a 34-11.75 and the discus with a 121-3.

In the boys meet, Neillsville’s Taytor Lowry won the 800 in 2:03.98 and the 1,600 in 4:40.57.

Nekoosa’s Aiden Neduzak won the long jump and triple jump with distances of 20-5.25 and 41-1, respectively.

BASEBALL

Stevens Point 7, Wisconsin Rapids 6

WISCONSIN RAPIDS – The Panthers scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to go ahead 7-5 and held on for the Wisconsin Valley Conference win.

Noah Marschke was 3-for-4 with an RBI for SPASH. Tommy Drohner had two hits and an RBI, and Kale Roth and Riley Warynski each had two hits.

Gavin Przybelski had a two-out, two-run single to pull SPASH within 5-4 in the sixth inning. Przybelski then scored the tying run on a hit by Drohner.

In the seventh, Benett Klish led off with a single and later scored on a grounder by Noah Marschke. Marschke later scored on an RBI single by Deacan Koback.

Josh Opiola pitched 3⅓ innings to get the win. He allowed one hit and no runs. Riley Warzynski pitched one inning for the save, allowing one hit and one run.

SPASH is 16-5 overall and 9-1 in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.

D.C. Everest 6, Merrill 0

MERRILL – Hayden Davidowski, Braxton Olson and Noah Chmielewski combined to pitch a four-hit shutout for the Evergreens.

Chris Wiesman, Brock Babiash, Nick Cotter and Davidowski all had two hits apiece for D.C. Everest.

Mosinee 8, Rhinelander 2

MOSINEE – Mosinee won its first outright Great Northern Conference championship with the victory.

Gavin Obremski started a five-run second inning with a solo home run, his first varsity home run. Keagen Jirschele hit a two-run double off the top of the fence a few batters later and Tanner Unertl added a two-run double in the inning.

Unertl and Jirschele finished with three RBIs apeice.

Mosinee starter Garrett Shupe struck out 11 and walked two in 5⅔ innings. Davin Stoffel pitched the final 1⅓ innings.

Mosinee finished conference with an 11-1 record and improved to 21-2 overall.

Stratford 10, Rosholt 0

STRATFORD – Brady Schmidt and Dillion Kirsch combined to pitch a five-inning perfect game in the Tigers’ win over the Hornets.

Schmidt pitched the first four innings and struck out five. Kirsch pitched the fifth inning and struck out the side for Stratford.

Jackson Ormond had two hits, including a double, scored twice and drove in two runs. Braeden Schueller and Henry Zaleski also had two hits for Stratford.

Blade Niewiadomski took the loss for Rosholt.

Pittsville 20, Port Edwards 1

PORT EDWARDS – Pittsville banged out 17 hits and scored 10 runs in the fourth inning in a five-inning victory.

Evan Haley and Noah Grimm each went 4-for-5 and drove in three runs. Waylon Grimm had two hits and three RBIs, while Dylan Luther and Logan Zickert each had three RBIs. Easton Dammann added two hits and two RBIs.

Zickert pitched three innings for the win. He allowed one hit and struck out five.

Newman Catholic 9, Abbotsford/Colby 6

ABBOTSFORD – The Cardinals led 7-0 after three innings and held on for the victory.

Mateo Lopez had two hits and an RBI for Abbotsford/Colby, while Blake Bargender drove in two runs.

WAUTOMA – The Royals secured the Mid-Western Wisconsin Conference title with the victory.

Sarah Shaw scored three goals for Assumption, which is 18-0 overall. Kendall Duellman and Addi Vollert each added two goals, while Clara Kubis, Kayla Kerkman, Izzy Jungwirth and Jerlin Ferreira also scored.

Morgan Reichl was in goal for Assumption.
