BMW iX3 SA Pricing Announced

Last year BMW SA announced that it would be expanding its EV portfolio with the introduction of the BMW iX3 in SA early in 2022. The battery powered SUV is now available for order in the SA market and its price has been added to the local listings.

Battery power
The BMW iX3 is based on the current generation X3. The major difference, however, is that it is powered purely by electricity. It features BMW’s fifth-generation eDrive technology for propulsion. The drivetrain consists of an integrated electric motor, transmission and power electronics in a single housing. Maximum output is 210 kW with peak torque of 400 N.m. Power sent exclusively to the rear wheels. As a result, acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is said to take 6,8 seconds. BMW quotes a driving range of up to 460 kilometres.
New look
The BMW iX3 made its international debut around the middle of 2020. Since then BMW has seen fit to give its appearance a bit of a revision. The changes, since debut, include a larger BMW kidney grilles, headlamps that are 10 mm slimmer than before and newly sculpted front apron. Three-dimensional LED rear lights are adopted and adaptive LED headlamps are standard as are model-specific accents in BMW i Blue at the front and rear. Additionally, an M Sport package is now standard fitment. This adds M aerodynamic wheels that measure 20-inches all around.

Standard spec
The BMW iX3 is kitted with a long list of standard items. In the cabin these include a fully digital 12,3-inch instrument cluster, BMW Live Cockpit Professional with cloud-based navigation system BMW Maps. Also standard is smartphone Integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto preparation.
Standard driver assistance systems include Driving Assistant Professional, Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go function, automatic Speed Limit Assist and route monitoring, Parking Assistant with Reversing Assist Camera and Reversing Assistant.
New buyers get to choose from two equipment lines “Inspiring” and “Impressive. The former includes metallic paintwork, adaptive suspension, automatic tailgate operation, a panoramic glass roof and electrically adjustable seats. Furthermore there is a storage package and a three-zone automatic climate control system with pre-heating and pre-conditioning functions. “Impressive” adds acoustic glazing, BMW Head-Up Display, Harman Kardon Surround Sound System and BMW IconicSounds Electric.
