Event to seek marrow donor for Freetown-Lakeville teacher
A little over a month ago, Freetown resident Paul Couto and his family received devastating news that the 54-year-old history teacher had been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. Now, his best shot at beating the rare and aggressive cancer involves finding a suitable bone marrow donor.
There will be a blood drive and bone marrow donor search event for Couto — who, in addition to desperately needing compatible marrow, has also been undergoing daily blood transfusions.
